A geologist, he founded Slawson Exploration Co., Inc. in 1957 and drilled thousands of oil wells in Kansas and nine other states. The Earth, Energy, & Environment Center replicates the Kansas geological landscape during prehistoric times when the state was completely submerged underwater.
